For this podcast, that’s a wrap.
Nat and me in the studio with the picnic blanket when we started the wellness collective in 2016.
How are you at ending things?
Me?
I’m terrible! I hate the idea of letting people down, and of not belonging to that place or project anymore, I have big FOMO issues!
But I do believe that it’s important to trust your gut when it’s telling you that it’s time for something to end. (Maybe due to the amount of gut health talk in the pod!!)
More than ever, there are only so many hours in the day, and days in the year and as I am mad for saying YES to something new, I recently recognized that I had just run out of mental space for all the things I had going on.
There was nothing left, and so I made the very difficult decision to end my time as co host on The Wellness Collective Podcast.
The Wellness Collective started in 2016, Nat my co-host is a powerhouse business woman, and she was looking for a partner in crime to make this show. She chose me, with my radio experience to help her make it, and I am forever grateful that she took that punt!
At the time Podcasts weren’t dime a dozen then and we planned it to be about 8 episodes.
The fact that we lasted for about 170 episodes, and built a big community of listeners over that time who joined us weekly, is something that I am incredibly proud of.
Oh, we also won a silver medal at the Australian Podcast Awards 2020, and were finalists in 2019! That was fun!
Over the years of making this podcast, I learnt so much, about ways to live a healthier life, but also about making content, working in a partnership, about not taking myself too seriously, about how listening to a guest and going way off topic is much more fun than sticking the script!
So I will take these learnings and move into my next podcast gig soon!
Which is hosting for something totally different! Stay tuned.
The Wellness Collective will go on without me, and I wish Nat all the best and she goes on a solo host, .
